Nelson Eddy

1940's Publicity Portrait (Signed)

$25.00

Nelson Eddy was an American singer and actor who appeared in 19 musical films during the 1930’s and 1940’s, as well as in opera and on the concert stage, radio, television, and in nightclubs. A classically trained baritone, he is best remembered for the eight films in which he costarred with soprano Jeanette MacDonald. He was one of the first “crossover” stars, a superstar appealing both to shrieking ‘bobby soxers’ (modern music fans) and opera purists, and in his heyday, he was the highest paid singer in the world!

All of our portraits of Nelson are from an archived collection from a now deceased Jeanette MacDonald, Nelson Eddy and Gene Raymond fan and were all contained within the same leather clad album (see additional images).

These portraits/hand signed autographs have been discussed within various Jeanette & Nelson fan clubs/Facebook groups and are 100% thoroughly believed to all be genuine.

Please note that this auction is only for the single portrait pictured and not for the additional portraits shown within the album shots, as these will be listed separately.

Condition wise the main points of note are minor corner creases, glue spots and marks on the rear from album mounting, along with the usual slight age darkening to the whiteness of the paper.

Please study the image and grading guide below for more information.
