Julius Caesar (Sir John Gielgud)

1953 US Still

$45.00

The growing ambition of Julius Caesar is a source of major concern to his close friend Brutus. Cassius persuades him to participate in his plot to assassinate Caesar, but they have both sorely underestimated Mark Antony.

Quite possibly one of the best ever Hollywood performances of Shakespeare’s play, with Oscar worthy performances by James Mason, Marlon Brando and Sir John Gielgud.

Condition wise the only real points of any note with this striking early character portrait of Sir John Gielgud are the most minor creases/marks, aside from being printed off centre (uneven border placement) the right edge has been cut poorly, and a previous owner has stamped his name on the rear, aside from that (and the usual expected age darkening) this portrait is in fantastic condition.

Note – All the stills/portraits we sell are 100% original period issued pieces and not to be confused with the mass of modern ‘minty white’ reprints/reproductions sold on various auction sites. These have zero resale value and are often sold as genuine issue, so please beware.
